Train the Trainer for Cub Scout Basic Leader Our next Train the Trainer for the NEW Cub Scout Basic Leader Training Course is Sept. 13 in Freeville/Dryden. We are looking for LOTS of Pack Trainers and other interested Scouters, so we can get our new Cub leaders trained this fall, in their own units, at their own convenience. As you know, one of the best ways to keep our Scouting program moving forward, is to have well trained leaders. Thanks for your help in promoting this course. Cub Scout Leader Training Steve Ayers (of Pack 37 in Owego) will be conducting a Cub Scout training on Sunday, August 24th from noonto 4 pm, downstairs at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Owego. He will be teaching the 3 part Leader Specific training consisting of 1. Introduction to Cub Scouting module 2. How We Have Fun module 3. Position Specific module for Den Leader (Wolf/Bear) and also the module for Pack Committee Member There is no cost for this training,If you have not completed the online Youth Protection Training and Fast Start Training for your position, please do so prior to this date and bring a print out of the course completion certificate along with you, so we can document that you have completed all of the training. Please plan on remaining for the full 4 hour. If attending please let Steve Ayers know. New Senior District Executive for Hiawatha District Stephen Hoitt (Council Excutive) announced on August 12 the appointment of Andy Zilnik as the new Senior District Executive for Hiawatha District. Andy has severed on the Baden-Powell Council Staff for 2 ½ years as District Executive for Delahanna District and Camp Director for Camp Tuscarora.
